Making The Best Of It..
When Nahla decides that 07.05 A.M is a reasonable time to get up on a Saturday morning, at least it gives Mummy time to throw together some yummy breakfast scones. From bowl to plate in 20 minutes- what could be easier??
INGREDIENTS:
(Makes app. 15 scones)
3 dl flour (I use spelt for an healthier option)
1 ts baking powder/ baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 dl sugar (I use brown demera sugar)
75 g soft butter
3 dl natural yoghurt
1 dl raisins (I sometimes use hazelnuts or other nuts/seeds to mix it up)
1/2 dl grated orange zest
3 dl oatmeal
RECIPE:
1. Mix flour, oats, baking soda, salt and sugar, preferably in a blender/ food processor. Mix in butter and let the machine
blend all the ingredients till smooth.
2. Stir in yoghurt and raisins/nuts. Keep mixing until dough is smooth. Roll out on table, appr. 2 cm thick.
3. Use a glass to make scones. Put over on greased baking tray.
4. Bake for appr. 15 minutes on 225 C.
TUCK IN!!
