Right Now...

... I love adding a little of this Pomegranate powder to my morning smoothies or bowls of porridge. With winter time only around the corner, I figure a little extra help in the antioxidant department cannot go amiss! Order from here.

Look At Me, Mummy!

I am getting so big and nearly nearly ready to walk! My little baby girl, how did time fly by so quickly?? I am trying every day to make sure I just take it all in, remember every second of my baby being a baby. I smell her baby hair, kiss her baby toes and tickle that baby tummy- sweet precious moments, please linger a little longer!

Happy Halloween!

Today was Nahla's very first Halloween- and what a day for my little Pumpkin Princess! In true family tradition, we celebrated this spooky day in my auntie and uncle's house, where every year my uncle ensures that the entire neighborhood in both scared to near-death as well as very much entertained with his Over The Top Halloween decorations. And trust me, I am talking proper cool stuff. Think sculls popping out of the rubbish bin by the road- accompanied by scary laughing and ever creepier music. Skeletons that come flying across the lawn towards the front door when it rings. The car starting up- driven by a ghost- when people walk down the drive. And that is just some of it! Every year he gets more technical and more advanced in his decorations- ensuring that the local kids are taken by surprise- and heart-jumping frights- every year when they approach No. 4! Seriously cool stuff!

Anyway, it was a day- and night- to remember- for both little and bigger! Happy Spooky Lovely Family Filled Day!

The house was decked out for an almighty Halloween celebration. My auntie is party planner extraordinaire!

The children were in costumes, each one scarier than the next. Cute little girlies!

The "bloody" cupcakes and scary witches' fingers were yum.

As were the little mice buns. Almost too cute to eat! But not quite!

Nahla and Tante Tonje are the best of friends- and had fun at the dinner table...

... while teeny tiny little Emine Sofie slept though the whole party in her "Too Cute To Spook" outfit!

And now, all partied out and cleaned up and home, Nahla is fast asleep in her bed, surely dreaming of witches and mice and all things nice! While Mummy is curled up with a glass of ice-cold diet Coke (my ONLY vice!) and James Bond on TV- perfect end to a perfect day!

xoxo from us!

There's Nothing Like...

... a spot of cartoon-watching with breakfast!
Note: This was one thing I swore blind I would never do. As in "Imagine having your child watch TV just so you can trick breakfast into her/him!" Usually said with the full-of-yourself-I-Know-it-all voice of someone yet to experience the reality of actually having children. And now? Let's just say I have modified my views a "tad" and swallowed my pride a few times over!

Happiness is...

... a box set of Ugly Betty (yes, really!), freshly pedicured toes (Chanel Rouge Noir- always a classic AND goes with my witch outfit for tomorrow!) and a tall glass of yummy yummy chai tea latte! Sweet dreams! xoxo

The PERFECT Chai Tea Latte:
(Enough for 2- people or glasses!)

2 tea-bags black or spice tea
1-2 cinnamon sticks
1-2 teaspoons of ground nutmeg
1-2 teaspoons of brown demera sugar
2-3 teaspoons of ground cloves
a pinch of ground ginger
2 dl low-fat milk (I use soy)
Mix all the ingredients in a small pot, add 1 dl of water, stir and bring to the boil. Let simmer for 4-5 minutes, then remove cinnamon sticks, strain and serve. YUM. Perfect perfect with chocolate chip cookies! (Just saying!)

A Touch Of (TGI) Friday Feeling...

... on a Saturday night, when pumpkin and Mummy met my dad, Nahla's beloved Bestefar, for dinner in the city, as he was passing through town en route to Germany with work. And aside from a little "I-Don't-Want-To-Sit-Up-And-Eat-I-Want-To-Crawl-Around-On-The-Floor" moment from little Royal Highness, it was one of those perfect perfect family evenings. Which we rounded up by a lovely little walk down Karl Johan (Oslo's lively main street) and a take away latte from Kaffebrenneriet- thank God for the late open one at Saga cinema! And now; Nahla fast asleep and Mummy clad in Juicy and curled up for a quiet night in- in preparation for a busy Halloween celebration tomorrow!

... my new black glittery skulls holding prime position in my coffee table tray... SO Halloween-chic!

Cute Family Alert!

How cute is Nicole and Joel looking, out and about with little Sparrow?! No more gossip lately on when the Richie-Maddens are set to tie the knot- although Nicole did already have her bachelorette party in sunny Mexico, so chances are the big "I DO's" are not too far into the future. Watch this space!

Right Now...

... I am getting a tad fed up with this rain. Seriously, going on day 5- non stop. And whenever the weather gets like this, I find myself longing for hot sandy beaches. Afternoons spent reading in a hammock. Swimming in the Pasific Ocean. Eating fresh pineapple and watermelon on the beach. A new bikini. An ice-cold mojito. Romantic mid-night dips in the pool. In short, I want Thailand, A.K.A My Favorite Place On Earth. So would not mind a few days spent at the stunning Four Seasons Koh Samui. Total Bliss. And if maybe not right now is possible, then February is looking pretty good!

Speaking Of Hats...

Nahla seems to love Mummy's new hat even more than currently-hat-obsessed Mummy does. Like, putting on and taking of the hat: Funniest. Thing. Ever.

"Do I look cute when I do this, Mummy?"

"I can lift it off, like this, then..."

"ALL GONE!"

"Peek-a-boo, Mummy!"

"Uups, now it got really dark!"

"AHHHHHHHHH- hear me sing!"

My cutest little munchkin!

Again- it is often not toys that generate the most fun!

Terrible Rainy Weather...

... nearly ruined my fab new Zara hat today! Thank God for the perfect latte from Steam- and an apple and cinnamon muffin shared between Nahla and Mummy!

Nahla's Favorite Book...

... is so frequently read (read at least 5 times EVERY night before bed!), that it looks like we need to purchase a new copy! The first page is the worst off, as this is her favorite- and so we have to keep flicking back to this one over and over and over again. I think it's the bunny's soft ears that's keeping her entertained. Sweet!

Autumn Heels...

... I long to wear are these two STUNNING STUNNING shoe boots!

Acne... I swoon...

Burberry Prorsum.. I DIE. Seriously, HOW.AMAZING.ARE.THESE?!?!

These two pairs would complete my autumn/winter wardrobe. Hands down. Dear Santa, please remember how incredibly good I have been- so if you could drop these beauties by a tad early- like let's say next week- I promise to be exceptionally good for, like, ever!

One Minute Off The Ball...

... equals A LOT of mess. It amazes me how much she can get done in the few minutes it takes me to unload the dishwasher.... Note to self: Move toilet roll holder UP!

I Know I Said I Wouldn't Go For Red...

... as this year's Christmas color; but that does not mean I can't admire these sneaky peaks at H&M Home's Christmas Collection 2010! It is certainly festive, no? It makes me think that there are ways you can do red in a very contemporary way too- not just the very traditional and boring one seen EVERYWHERE for the holidays. Shiny red and silver could look cool. Or red and black for something a tad more edgy. Or just red on red, different textures and tones could maybe be allowed to rock my Christmas Day lunch table too!

Note: I am aware that we are not even passed Halloween on the calendar, but today the weather was cold and grey and it looked like snow could possibly be in the air- so I felt very Christmas'y all of a sudden!
