Essie Love
My currents obsession with all shades of pink is making me fall head over heels for these too-cute shades from cult nail brand Essie. These are, from left: A Crewed Interest, Tart Deco - which I am currently rocking - and Boathouse. So perfect for summer!
Lovely Edinburgh...
... with the family (AKA my lil sister and Emine Sofie, plus my mum and dad, AKA the worlds' most doting grandparents) in just 18 little days! I cannot wait!
Dream Job
Seriously, I cannot for one minute complain about my day-to-day existence, where I get to sink into hairdressers' chairs, latte in hand, to test out hair treatments for work - and get paid to write about it.
Note: When I am up at 03.16 AM, deadlines looming, typing away like a crazy-person, I feel a little less blessed. But over-all; one freakin' great job!

Safe And Sound...
... back in Ireland. To torrential rain, stormy weather and what looks a lot more like autumn than the sunny spring weather we encountered on our 45 minute stop-over in Oslo earlier today. Not impressed.
And now, after 2 flights, 3 magazines, a creaky neck having acted as pillow for a sleeping toddler for an hour and 45 minutes, 2 cups of gross airplane coffee, a spot of duty free shopping, a missing bag, a minor melt-down, bag found post melt-down, turbulence, 3 abbreviated versions of Winnie the Pooh book, some sing-songs, plastic-y airplane salad, a post-arrival shopping trip to stock up on food and toddler in bed, this mama is showered and chilled out and more ready for bed than I have been in a long time! Sweet dreams!

My Little Artist...
... is busy making lovely drawings. Note the painted nails! And how her hair is getting so long! My little baby, how is she already 2 and 4 months?!
Dressing When Pregnant...
... comes easier to some people than to others. And as for as Kristin Cavalleri is concerned, I totally plan to channel her style when I feel ready to embark on baby no. 2! I HEART how effortless this reality mama-to-be is looking, the casual tee and yellow blazer is such a fab and weekend-perfect combo!

Summer Hair
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this colour! It is totally "Blonette", AKA half and half between blonde and brunette, and so so natural and gorgeous looking! I think I need to get some more dark into my own blonde tresses! And as for the braids, how perfect for the beach!

2 Stylish Ladies
Look how fab Victoria and little Harper look as they jet out of Hong Kong after their little round-trip in Asia? The mother-daughter duo has been abroad to promote Posh's clothing collection, and the proud mama has been sharing updates from their all-girls' holiday on Twitter. How big is little Harper getting, by the way?? Seriously; time just flies with babies!

The Best Ever Chicken Pad Thai...
... according to my very favorite Red magazine. And they are right on the button!
Chicken Pad Thai
Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
You will need
300g flat rice noodles
2-3 tbsp fish sauce or light soy sauce, to taste
3 tbsp tamarind paste (or 4 tbsp lime juice, if you can’t find tamarind)
2 tbsp palm or brown sugar
4 tbsp groundnut oil
400g skinless boneless chicken, breast and/or thigh meat, sliced
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 shallots, finely sliced
1 tbsp Thai dried shrimp (optional)
2 tsp mild red chilli powder
3 eggs, lightly beaten
150g fresh bean sprouts
75g unsalted roasted
Peanuts, chopped
Small handful coriander, chopped
2 spring onions, finely sliced
1 lime, cut into wedges, to serve
2-3 tbsp fish sauce or light soy sauce, to taste
3 tbsp tamarind paste (or 4 tbsp lime juice, if you can’t find tamarind)
2 tbsp palm or brown sugar
4 tbsp groundnut oil
400g skinless boneless chicken, breast and/or thigh meat, sliced
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 shallots, finely sliced
1 tbsp Thai dried shrimp (optional)
2 tsp mild red chilli powder
3 eggs, lightly beaten
150g fresh bean sprouts
75g unsalted roasted
Peanuts, chopped
Small handful coriander, chopped
2 spring onions, finely sliced
1 lime, cut into wedges, to serve
Method
1. Cover the noodles with just-boiled water and set aside for 10 minutes. Mix the fish or soy sauce with the tamarind paste and palm sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
1. Cover the noodles with just-boiled water and set aside for 10 minutes. Mix the fish or soy sauce with the tamarind paste and palm sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
2. Heat a large wok, until it is smoking hot. Add three tablespoons of oil. Tip in the chicken pieces, frying and stirring for three minutes, or until the pieces turn golden. Add the garlic and stir-fry with the chicken for a few seconds. Follow with the sliced shallots, dried shrimp (if using) and chilli powder. Stir and heat through for a few seconds.
3. Drain the soaked noodles and toss well with the ingredients in the wok. Stir-fry for one to two minutes – the noodles will start to soften and change texture.
4. Push everything over to one side of the wok. Add the remaining oil to the cleared area and crack the eggs on to it to form an omelette. When the eggs have set, cut into small chunks with your wooden spoon or spatula and stir in with the noodles.
5. Add the tamarind and sugar mixture to the wok, folding it in to coat everything evenly. If the noodles are still too firm for your liking, splash a little water over to help them cook. Add two thirds of the bean sprouts and sprinkle with half the chopped peanuts. Taste and add a little more fish sauce or sugar, if you like.
6. Stir and, when the vegetables are beginning to wilt, transfer to a serving dish and shower with the remaining chopped peanuts, coriander and spring onions. Serve with lime wedges.

Little Friends...
... makes their Mummies hearts ache with pride and love! It is pretty magical to watch your our daughters' budding friendship when you yourself have been friends for as long as you can remember. Everything is secondary to family and friends!
We Are Getting Summer Ready...
... one little grooming routine at a time! Nahla, who is developing a little nail-varnish obsession, got stuck in when Mummy was done doing hers. And who cares if half her little foot turned out pale pink too, sure you got to start early if you want to be a true fashionista!
Kristin's Pretty Pregnancy
Former Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari was looking pretty in purple as she was spotted running errands around Beverly Hills this week. The reality mama-to-be, who is expecting her first baby with fiancée Jay Cutler later this summer, was later spotted rocking some very cool rose-printed jeans and a black blazer as she headed to a lunch date with a friend. Totally one to watch for pregnancy fashion, that much is for sure!

It Is Amazing...
... how much mothers can get done in the few minutes you manage to keep your toddler occupied with doing the dishes! Seriously, 12 minutes is an ocean of time!
Pop-Eye Juice...
... aka ice cubes, orange juice and baby spinach in the blender, is our favorite way to start the day! Green is great!
Today's Yummy Mummy Style Crush
The tell-tale glow, the sequined blazer, the Celine bag and the adorable toddler; Kourtney K is totally rocking pregnancy, true Hollywood style! Seriously, I DIE for that bag! It is on my must-have list this year!

The Longest Pregnancy In History
Jessica Simpson tweeted yesterday that she is still pregnant amidst a lot of rumours that she had already given birth to a baby daughter and named her Maxi.
Jessica tweeted: "To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl…I’m still pregnant!! Don’t believe what you read ladies and gents."
Seriously, it seems Jessica Simpson has been pregnant for ever, no??

Today's Fashion Loves
My new-ish pink River Island jeans, which has climbed up to my favorite's list lately, as the weather is hotting up and coloured jeans just look so, well, fresh and cool and very 2012!
Seriously, I need to accomplish two things: Learn how to make friendship bracelets - which I am sure I was perfectly capable of in like 4th grade - and find THIS orange nail polish! So amazing against tanned hands - and much more This Year than just regular red nails! LOVE!

Today's Yummy Mummy Style Crush
Model mama Karolina Kurkova was snapped out and about in NYC rocking some super-cool and colourful jeans the other day. And I must admit, it made me love the very similar pair I snapped up from River Island even more. Not only will it look fab now with a biker jacket or a comfy knit, but it will also work brilliantly come summer months paired with just some sandals and a white tank top. Star buy!

Little Snippets Of Our Day...
We went to catch a show about teddybears at the local theatre - which was a huge success! And will make BF jump with joy, as him being able to bring Nahla on movie-dates, just the two of them, looks like it is nearing reality.
We enjoy spectacular weather up north. Sunny, crisp and, unfortunately, still cold. But just made for little walks and playground ventures.
We baked some more buns. YUM.
Mummy is enjoying being reunited with her favorite pair of ankle boots, which were accidently left here on our last visit in February.
While Nahla is being doted on by eager grandparents, this working mama manages to get some work done and articles written.
Nahla enjoyed a morning play-date with super-cute Isak - how cute are the two shopping for jewels?!
Sweet Dreams!

Fashion Inspiration
Snapshots From Our Afternoon
Nahla and Mummy have spent the afternoon beauty-fying ourselves pre a trip to the theatre to watch a show containing a lot of teddybears, teddy hospitals and more fun stuff. And as we earlier today hit the Essie counter at the local chemist, sure all we needed to do was decide on colours for our finger nails. And just to inform: Mummy went for Aruba Blue and Nahla opted for Cute As A Button. We are total Essie girls here in our house!
