Take Note, Future Fashionistas!

The list of her devoted followers is longer than long. Madonna, Gwyneth, your average Notting Hill yummy mummy, you name it, they all love her. But Stella McCartney's latest venture deals with somewhat smaller matters, literally, as today she launched her first childrenswear collection. Sharp intake of breath everybody!

The line, which caters for 0-12-year-olds, features pea coats, stripey cashmere-blend knits (swoon!) and darling yellow wellies for splish-splashing around in puddles. In other words, clothes you'd be happy to wear yourself, and certainly deck out your little hopefuls in! And the best part? Before you dismiss it as something that only the Suri Cruises of this world will have access to, the fashion designer, who is soon to give birth to her fourth child (!), has made every effort to make her childrenswear debut as accessible as the collection she created for Gap earlier this year- which we LOVED by the way.

"As a brand with so many working parents in the team, I wanted to create a fun, desirable, wearable kid's collection that was affordable," McCartney explained. "I feel all the timeless children's wear is reserved for the expensive brands and that did not sit well with me. Kids and parents, aunts, uncles, friends should all be able to have access to Stella McCartney Kids clothes." Amen to that, Stella- now if only you would pull a similar move with your main lines too!

London; are you ready for this Yummy Mummy and her painfully over-used Mastercard?!
