My Latest Etsy Purchase...

... is some cute art for the wall in Nahla's room, ordered from here. I HEART the words, colors and design of this! Etsy is dangerous territory for me, I kid you not - so so easy to be tempted by all the gorgeous stuff all these talented people are making!

Tipi Tips

I just found this ADORABLE little handmade tipt tent on Etsy! And I just HAD TO order it for Nahla! I mean; how cute would this look on our garden, or in Nahla's future playroom?? Or, as is probably more likely as Nahla loves nothing more than being in the same room as us, on our livingroom floor?! So so cute! And maybe a nice change to her playing house under our dining room table?!

Right On Top Down Under

It is a while now since this Mummy holidayed her way through the land of down-under. But I remember a lot of it vividly. The amazing beauty of the east coast beaches. The stunning scenery of Sydney harbour. The night life in Melbourne's St. Kilda neighbourhood. The sunset over Palm Beach, famous for being the backdrop in Aussie soap Home and Away. The breathtaking Great Ocean Road between Melbourne and Adelaide.

But more than all this, I well and truly remember the AWSOME shopping there was to be found! Quirky little swimwear boutiques alongside mega-huge departement stores. Designerlabels and vintage, beach'y and formal. Fabulous homeware and furniture shops (so so hard to drag stuff home in a backpack, tough!).

And now, years after my Australian adventure (Note to self: Must try and organize holiday to OZ again ASAP!), I have fallen in love again. This time with the amazing Ubabub, who sells the most crazy cute nursery stuff. Those wallhangings just HAVE to come and pretty up Nahla's walls. And as for the Pod cot; Oh. My. God. Why, oh why did I not know of these guys before we got stuff for Nahla's nursery?! My only comfort? Sure, I plan to have more children! Now; shipping details.....

Nahla's New Chair...

.... is a super-cute bright red Kartell Lou Lou! I just love splashed of bright color when it comes to decorating children's rooms, and this little gem is just so cute! I have long been a fan of the Ghost chair and plan to get the "adult version" for myself to sit in my future home office- and what will be cuter that Mommy and Nahla sitting on their separate Kartell chairs, working away?!

Sunny Sweet Nursery

I love this incredibly sweet, happy and suitable-for-both-sex nursery! The colors are just so lovely and uplifting and I am sure it makes for one happy baby, being able to call this room home! Australian mummy Nicole posted these pictures of the nursery she did up for her young son on her fun and sweet blog

Seeing pictures like these makes me long, long, long to get started on Nahla's room, knowing that once I do, I'll go into nursery-making-overdrive, spend a fortune, get totally lost in magazines/blogs/books and just go about making my little girl's room the cutest funnest bestest place in the whole world!

A Bright Idea

Ever since seeing the beautiful Garland light by Tord Boontje for Habitat years ago, I have loved loved loved it. The whimsical beauty, the unique-ness, the delicate pattern, it all just makes for one of the most beautiful light fixtures ever made. I bought one too, (trust me!) when running through the Kensington branch of Habitat on a trip to London a couple of years back. It is still sitting in its original packaging, just waiting for me to find the perfect house and room in which to display it properly in. And now, in one of my packing frenzies, I came across it again- and decided it will be prefect for Nahla's nursery when she finally gets one! I mean, can you think of a more beautiful magical looking light for a little girl's room?! Nope, didn't think so!

Desk Duty

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this very cute children's desk. I know I might be jumping ahead a tad, as buying a desk for a 8,5 month old was be sheer madness, but when Nahla gets to that drawing stage, I know what we'll be getting!

Just wanted to share this beautiful room, isn't it just melt-your-heart-cute?! I love the classic baby girl combination of white and sugary pink, totally cliché, but beautiful none the less!

Nahla's Nursery

After a not-so-little shopping trip to one of my favourite baby mecca's Mamas & Papas, Nahla's not-too-far-into-the-future-now nursery will most definitively look A LOT like this, hevily featuring items and decoration from the Scrapbook Girl and Made With Love collections. So cute!

Nursery Trend Watch

Obsession deepens.. I think nursery style spotting has officially become my new anti-stress therapy- and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, as they say. I cannot think of anything more relaxing right now than to surf the web, looking for stylish rooms for little tots- and make grand plans for how Nahla's room will take shape when BF and I finally get a house- only a few more weeks to go!

The little nursery above is so precious with the little cot, the perfectly framed images and the raw concrete ceiling. And I am certain little boys would LOVE the idea of a robot room!

Nursery Wall Poem

I know I have been gushing about the cuteness of wall stickers for nursery walls before, but having just spotted this, I just had to share it. How cute is this little poem for a little girls wall?! Loving the fact that it is quite simple in its design, so that whatever your theme is, it could fit right in. Must make mental not to remember this when decorating princess' room!

Dreamy Children's Room

I couldn't help but fall in love with this stunning children's room when I flicked through a copy of Norwegian magazine KK the other day. The colors, the tree branch, the tipi tent; everything just makes for such a blissful perfect space. I am not quite sure it would fit in my house, as I don't really do that whole white washed "shabby chic'y" thing, but that does not stop me from loving the look- and I can imagine all little girls (and possibly boys) would too!

Little Girl, Great Big Room!

When I really should be spending my time planning and organizing my little sister's baby shower, now due in only a month, I find myself browsing sites for ideas for my little princess' room, which will now be a reality in only a few more weeks. I am strongly leaning towards something pink, white and chocolate brown- with fun accents of lime green for a bit of flair! And although I have a feeling Nahla will still sleep in her cot in our room until she turns 1 this winter, her room will still be hers to play in, get used to and escape to. Fun time ahead!

Nurseries.. Again..

I have become more than a little obsessed about planning Nahla's future nursery- and wall stickers are just at the top of my "must have" list for my little cupcake's room. I fell head over heels with this cute wall-teddy; the perfect companion for a little girl and her very own room!

Nursery Dreaming...

As I mentioned; when BF finishes his MA in the UK this summer, we will be busy house-hunting either there or in Ireland. And I can't wait. Not so much the whole leaving friends and family in Norway behind again part, but the prospect of finally having all our things in one place. In one country even. It will be bliss. And the one room I can't wait to get started on is Nahla's nursery. She already has SO much stuff! I find myself browsing interior magazines and dinky little childrens' shops all in the name of inspiration. Here are some of my favorites so far. Too. Cute. For. Words!
