A Lovely Day For Ducks...
... is a well-known Irish saying about a rainy day. But yesterday it wasn't just the ducks that had a good day - nor was it really particularly rainy either, but sure. Nahla loves the little lake across from Granny and Granddads house, and especially the ducks and swans that seem to always hang around. (Daddy had a morbid fear of swans, so he opted out of our little outing, but warmed me not to let the swans get his defenseless little daughter. I thought: 1. How scary can swans be, really? Come on; SWANS?! and 2. What kind of a mother do you think I am if I let me child be eaten by a swan?!) Turned out, however -annoying as it always is - that he was right! Those swans were as moody! Seriously, I am so not in camp ugly duckling anymore, that bloody duckling who really was a swan probably ended up pecking his poor "adopted" duck family to death down the line!
Anyway, apart from the angry swans, Nahla and Mummy had such a great time! We fed the ducks (lemon cupcakes - that is all we had, talk about a good day for the lucky ducks!), we (well, Nahla!) attempted to chase them, talk to them, get in for a swim with them (not that she got even close, don't worry, I am totally in the ball!) and all in all just realized that soon spring is here for real, and we have so many more great outdoor days to look forward too! Guess who cannot wait to bring her animal-loving munchkin to Dublin Zoo when the weather gets warmer?!
