Girl Crush
I think it's fair to say that I have a type - when it comes to women at least. Not that is goes any further than worshipping at their style altar, but still.
And it is fair to say that my style does not really change all that much from season to season. I think that much as you love fashion - and trust me, I HEART clothes and shoes and accessories with the best of them - you will get to a point where you know what suits you and what your style is and in ways it will define you.
I take impulses every season, embrace some new things, colors, skirt lenghts etc., but in my own way, with my own style. And maybe that is why Sienna Miller and Blake Lively are such style heroines to me, because I feel it suits the style that I seem to have landed on? Longish wavy blond hair? Check. Sun-kissed rather than super-tanned? Not overly much make-up but rather fresh faced and with focus on eyes (I HEART my MAC eye-liner!)? Yup, all sounsd pretty familiar.
A little boho, a little Rachel-Zoe'esque. Shots of color and skinny jeans. Amazing heels or sweet ballerina flats. Which reminds me, another style crush is definitively Tory Burch. And Nicole Riche. That dusty pink color my friends have named after me because I love it so much. A LOT of Zara. Some danish into the mix, Designers Remix Collection, Baum & Pferdgarten, Bruuns Bazaar; they all pop up rather frequently in my wardrobe.
Rather a smaller wardrobe with clothes that I LOVE and can mix and match than an overfull jumble of stuff I half like with a lot of unworn sale-scoops and cheap tat. I find that I splurge on things that I know will last and go with stuff I already have. Beautiful handsbags; LV, Chloe, Mulberry. Good jeans from Acne and Diesel. A Burberry trench. Some beloved silk scarves from Alexander McQueen and Pucci - works just as well protecting my hair in the summer as tied around my wrist as bracelets.
Style is a funny thing. Some have it, some don't. Money can buy you beautiful things but might not be able to make you stylish. Fashion should be fun, clothes should make you feel like the best version of you. Have fun with it, be smart when parting with your money and create a wardrobe that works for you and your life. Because, after all, if we feel good, we look good and if we look good, we are happier! Win/win!
