A Sneak Peak...

... on this year's Christmas cards. They have arrived! Yeah!

Princess Panties

This morning, as this mama was walking around the house in nothing but these cute little things (oh, and a t-shirt, relax!), sweet little Nahla excitedly exclaims: "Mummy has on princess panties!" Thank you, Nahla, for always making mummy feel like a princess!

Imagine...

... one day you will be 3, and you will ask so many questions. Everything we say will result in more "why's" and you will no doubt exhaust both mummy and daddy - and Google - in your quest for knowledge...

... then you will be 6 and a school-girl. And I will have to watch you walk to school, not knowing if you will make friends. Or if you will like it. Or love it even. Or what your teacher is like. Or nothing. And we will no doubt feel like sure it was only yesterday you were born, and yet here you are in school!

... then you will be 10 and think that everything we say or do is a tad embarrasing. You might have started to pick fights with me over clothes. I pray we will like the same things! I hope you will like some sports and be active. Gymnastics like me, or maybe ballet...

... when you are 15 I will probably worry about you all the time. Will you go out much? Will you drink? I wonder what your friends will be like... We might clash a lot. I hope you will see that everyhing we do or say is because we love you more than life...

... when you are 19 you might bring some guy home and tell us this is Dave. Or Scott. Or Skyler. Depending on what boy-names were in fashion when he was born. I worry he will be a rocker... Or worse, a smoker. I will have to say hi and smile and in my head I will be screaming: "Get out of my house Dave/Scott/Skyler, you are not good enough for my Nahla!"

... when you are 24 I hope we will still be best friends. I hope I will be the rock in your life that every mother should be. If I am half the mum my mum is, you will be blessed. I hope you have an education. I hope you love what you do. I hope you are as happy and healthy and amazing as you are this very minute. I hope I still every day remind myself how lucky I am to have you...

But for now you are almost 2. And you are amazing. My world. The love of our lives. And much as I am so looking forward to all the times we are going to share, I also hope time goes by very slowly.

Life does not consist of minutes or seconds, but of the moments you remeber! And I am LOVING every moment!

iBaby!

I know it is almost a year since I first got my iPhone (Note: I have been an Apple girl for years, having long since fallen in love with MacBooks!), but it seems the amazing-ness of this little gadet just doesn't stop to amaze me.

I mean; Hello! What did people do before iPhones?! My most recent discovery (and AppStore purchase, off course), is the amazing Baby Monitor & Alarm app. Why, oh why did I not know of this before?! This is such a clever thing to have at your disposal, they really should inform you about it before you even leave the delivery ward!

In short; this app works just like a normal baby monitor, only way cooler off course. Steve Jobs, your legacy is pure awesome-ness! The idea is that you leave your phone in the room where your baby is sleeping. Monitor on. Then if baby cries. or stirs. Or, more like Nahla these days, tries to climb out of her cot and get up to all sorts, the über clever app calls a pre-programmed phone-number and let's you know something is up wih baby! How amazing is that?!

There are other cool features too, like the way you can record a lulluby that will go off to try and lull baby back to sleep before it rings the other phone. And you can off course customize the settings so that the alarm goes off at either 5, 10, 15 or 20 seconds of noise in the room.

Oh, and if your singing is less than calming, sure you can just have it play a pre-set song from your iTunes library! This app is so clever you would think it has children itself!

... makes me feel overwhelmed with homesick-ness for northern Norway, where I grew up and where my parents still live. I have travelled all over the world, but nowhere is as beautiful as northern Norway on very cold winter evenings, when the little light there is turns a magnificent color of blue, and the northern lights light up the sky. It will always to me feel like the way Christmas and winter is meant to look, and nowhere will ever come close in my heart.

This Shop Window...

... made by little munchkin excited beyond belief earlier today, as we strolled passed one of the biggest toystores in the city. And seeing my little love so happy and full of joy, sure it made my mummy-heart skip a lil' beat. And so now I am thinking; maybe one of these cars needs to make its way and join the pile under our Christmas tree in a month's time... Dear Santa; do you have our address yet??

Today's Yummy Mummy Style Crush

They sure make a gorgeous looking duo, Miranda Kerr and her little Flynn. Is it just me, or is the little dote getting so big, so fast! I mean; wasn't he only just born?!
Model mama Kerr looked casual and fresh wrapped up against the cool November day in New York City, and her little muchkin was looking too-cute-for-words too in his own winter gear.
