Eat Your Heart Out
Treat your love to these yummy cookies on this day filled with all things love!
Makes about 15
INGREDIENTS
150g (5½oz) unsalted butter
75g (2¾oz) caster sugar
225g (8oz) plain flour
1 small egg, lightly beaten
To decorate
Pink sugar crystals
Edible glitter
Melted dark chocolate
Few tablespoons icing sugar
METHOD
Preheat oven to 170°C/gas 4.
Dice the butter into a large bowl. Add the flour, sugar and a pinch of salt.
Gently rub in the butter with your fingertips, stir in the egg and bring the dough together into a ball.
Wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll to 5mm/¼in thick.
Cut out heart shapes with a biscuit cutter and lay on a non-stick baking sheet lined with baking parchment.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden.
Leave to cool on a rack.
To decorate the biscuits, mix the icing sugar with ½tbsp water to make a paste.
Brush half the biscuits with icing, and sprinkle with pink sugar crystals.
Dip the remaining biscuits in the melted chocolate and sprinkle with edible glitter, lots of glitter. Leave to set before serving.
Enjoy with a tall glass of bubbles!
