B-Day Party: An All Day Affair
Puh. Just arrived home after attending my 6-year old cousin's birthday-bash- which turned into an all-day extravaganza. Now we totally enjoyed it, don't get me wrong; there is nothing quite as fulfilling as hanging out with family. But still, with a 3-month old baby in tow, any type of event that requires you to be on the go and out of the house all day is rather exhausting. Somehow being at home just gets a whole new appeal when you have a small baby. The comfort of it all; knowing where you have things, being able to put baby down on its playmat or bouncy-chair, having your changing-table at the ready; little things that all become such luxuries.
Anyway, it was a birthday party fit for a princess indeed. Pink cake, lots of cute presents, many very sparkly and shiny and off course; pink, balloons, kids, spaghetti; you get the drift. Therese, my adorable cousin, is completely smitten with Nahla, and had waited all day for us to show up when we finally did. And not to mention missed us while we were away in Ireland. So there were lots of cuddles. Kisses. Attempts to hold the baby. Some tears when Nahla did not want to sit still in her lap. And lots of happy smily kids; the perfect, lovely exhausting, family day. Bliss!
